Digital Platforms to launch Google Play analogue on May 9

MOSCOW, Mar 29 (PRIME) -- Russian autonomous non-commercial organization Digital Platforms is designing an applications store for Android, an analogue to Google Play, named NashStore, which will be launched on May 9, Vladimir Zykov, director of projects at the organization, told PRIME on Tuesday.

“Unfortunately, Russians cannot normally use Google Play for a purchase and payment for applications, and developers were stripped of a source of income. It is the fact we face today. This is why we created Russian applications store NashStore,” Zykov said.

NashStore will be used to download, install, update applications, and pay for subscriptions.

“More than 700 companies are working with autonomous non-commercial organization Digital Platforms on creation of the applications store, and all the interested can apply to add software to NashStore via official website NashStore.ru,” he said.

The Digital Platforms team is working on different means of payment for applications that will be compatible with Mir cards.
